Julie Walek

Competition Company Director, Technical Development, Jazz, Acrobatics, Lyrical

Julie is inspired by her students. Seeing the kids work together as a team and reaching goals together pushes Julie to coach and instruct them to their highest potentials. We are so lucky to have Julie on board with our technique staff!

Julie Walek is from Buffalo, NY where she began dancing at the age of three.  She danced in all areas including jazz, tap, ballet, acrobatics, pointe, Lyrical, and musical theatre. She continued her dance education at the State University of New York at Buffalo studying jazz, tap, ballet, modern, pilates, teaching and choreography.  Julie was a member and danced with the Zodiac Dance Company while she was at the University of Buffalo. She has studied dance throughout her life at numerous dance conventions; New York Dance Alliance, Tremaine, Pulse, Camp Pulse, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and DanceLife Teacher Conference with Rhee Gold.  She has been teaching dance for over 25 years winning numerous awards including: Choreography awards, Technical Excellence award, and The Versatility Award for her choreography at local and national competitions, . During the 22 years of teaching children and adults, Julie has specialized in Jazz, lyrical, strength & technique training, musical theater and acrobatics.  She has studying the best ways to help everyone learn the love of dance with proper technique, strength and conditioning. She continues to learn new techniques to share with all her students. Julie has performed in numerous performances in the Buffalo area. She was a member of the National Cheerleading Association where she traveled throughout the Western New York area teaching dance and cheerleading to children of all ages.  Before moving to Florida she has coach her former high school varsity cheerleading team for 2 years and is currently JW Mitchell’s Assistant Cheer Coach.

GOALS: To bring the love of dance to all students and our community. Teach the value of teamwork and achieving goals together.

To continue teaching and dance education in various areas by attending dance teacher conventions.
